Residual Haunting

This type of haunting resembles images and emotions trapped in time through the energy they left behind. Major events, especially emotional events can leave an energy trace behind (like a fingerprint in history). Sometimes events, people, or something occurring in the area can touch upon these “fingerprint images,” triggering the energy to replay. The easiest way to understand this type of haunting is picturing a song recorded onto a phonograph record which we may scratch with a needle, releasing the music coded inside. Residual hauntings are not intelligent haunts. They are simply playbacks of events and therefore they may be repeated exactly the same way several times.

Intelligent Haunt

After death occurs, some individuals choose to remain here and not to move on the next plane of existence. The world of spirits is all around us. The reasons why some deceased people are ghosts and why some of those choose to interact with our world is connected to events which may have happened in each earth-bound life. There are many reasons this may happen, but the most common reasons are: * They feel like they weren't ready to die yet * They feel they have unfinished business * They are looking after someone else * They're waiting for someone else * They don't want to face judgment * They feel like they still need validation , They're looking for closure for something in their lives Therefore, intelligent hauntings are interactive with an area, person or even an event. Some deceased people go about their daily business as though they were still alive, while others try to make contact. Being unaware or unprepared for death will cause this type of haunting too. Also if the loved ones of the spirit have a hard time dealing with the loss, they may choose to stay around to comfort them. The reasons why the spirit is there and what type of life they led will contribute to the nature of the haunting. If the spirit is well balanced and chose to stay for a loved one, he may simply see himself in a protector or observer roll. He may or may not try to let the living know of their existence and if he chooses to do so, he will try to make the person aware of his presence in a gentle, familiar way, such as projecting a familiar scent, moving personal items around, or a gentle touch. This type of ghost is not trying to be threatening in any way. Another type of intelligent haunting occurs when the spirit is troubled and feels like it can not move on (be at rest) until something is resolved. This occurs with great tragedy like homicide or fluke events which can leave the spirit confused, angry, depressed, lost, or vengeful. Some of these ghosts will move on when they feel like they have had validation or closure. These ghosts usually will try very hard to make some sort of contact to help them achieve their goals.

Poltergeists:

This is a different type of an intelligent haunt. In short, this is a ghost seeking attention. Think about a child throwing a tantrum, moving objects, poundings on walls, making noises, and maybe even trying to cause some harm to others to get noticed.The immediate danger will be the way they will try to gain the attention, and may include objects or energy directed at you.

Demonic Haunts:

Entities that are responsible for demonic haunting's (which are very rare) are said to possess intelligence and they are most often non-human. When evaluating the Greek translation of the origination of the word "Demon", you will find that it was originally spelled "Daimon". When evaluating the underlying meaning of that word, you will quickly discover that it translates to "Intelligent". When a demonic haunting occurs, it is often common for a person to display signs of superior intelligence. They may seem to know things that they did not know previously to being possessed, many will appear to talk in "tongues", and others may begin to speak several different languages of the world - even though they have not received language training. Then, there are some that will expose information about others that could not have otherwise been known.

The next characteristic that demons have is that they seem to experience or feel emotion. Those that suffer from demonic hauntings often experience depression, anger, aggression, anxiety, fear, and a wide array of other emotions. In most cases, these emotions are not considered to be the "norm" for those that are possessed by a demon. This indicates to those that study demonology, the paranormal and demonic attributes that the highly charged emotions experienced by an individual must stem from the actual demonic entity that is in control of the person that is suffering from such a devastating experience. The next characteristic when it comes to demonic haunting's is that the entities appear to have their own personal will. They make specific requests when they possess a person. They have the actual ability to enter into a person's body, leave their body, move about in a person's environment, and avoid certain people, places, and situations. In many cases of possession, a person's will may be so overcome with the will of the demon that is possessing them that they lose control in numerous ways. They may not be able to control how their act, attend to their personal needs, or even control their body movements. As you can see, demonic haunting's are powerful and are considered to be some of the greatest unsolved mysteries. The individual that experiences such a devastating level of control in their lives may overcome the challenge with a religious cleansing or an exorcism. However, in some cases many never seek this form of assistance because they simply do not understand what is happening in their life. In some cases, a person may not have loved ones close enough to observe changes that may indicate such a haunting.
